“Thank you! On behalf of Infinity Sports and generous individual donors like you, we are able to make a child’s wish become reality. When a child or teenager has a serious medical condition, everyone in the family is affected. For 25 years, Starlight Children’s Foundation has been dedicated to helping seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities. The Starlight Children’s Foundation will be the recipient of the money raised through the Hoffen Foundation with the CHL’s Hat Trick for Kids program. Starlight’s programs have been proven to distract children from their pain, help them better understand and manage their illnesses, and connect families facing similar challenges so that no one feels alone. Through a network of chapters and offices, Starlight provides ongoing support to children, parents and siblings in all U.S. states and Canadian provinces with an array of outpatient, hospital-based and Web offerings. Programs are also delivered internationally through affiliates in Australia, Japan and the United Kingdom.
We welcome all levels of donation, whether it's a one-time gift or a per Hat Trick donation.“
About the Hoffen Foundation (Official Charity of the CHL) Former Central Hockey League on-ice official, Tim Zemens, established the non-profit Hoffen Foundation during the summer of 2003, along with his brother, Ron and sister-in-law Karen. After Tim’s personal experience surviving cancer, losing family to the disease and experiencing the positive effects of friends and family reaching out during difficult times, he fostered the desire to give back. He made visits to children's wards at hospitals while traveling to hockey assignments. His main focus was to assist children with differing diseases, disabilities and socioeconomic challenges. DID YOU KNOW? The name "Hoffen" is German for "hope", an action and emotion crucial to overcoming obstacles and challenges in life.
